What High Frequency smells like

Sweet almond first. Think marzipan, not cherry.

Then jasmine and magnolia bloom around it. They feel bright and airy rather than heavy, because of hedione (more on that below).

The dry-down goes soft and powdery: heliotrope, vanilla and a smooth sandalwood. Some wearers call it clean, almost soapy. Others call it creamy. Both are fair.

Initio put it in their Carnal Blends collection, which they describe as built on an overdose of hedione.

The notes, and why there is no pyramid

Initio do not publish a top, heart and base for High Frequency. They list seven main notes:

  • Magnolia
  • Jasmine
  • Vanilla
  • Almond
  • Sandalwood
  • Heliotrope
  • Hedione

High Wave is built on the same seven.

What is hedione?

A jasmine material first used in perfume in the 1960s. On its own it smells fresh, glowing and a little citrusy. In a blend it makes white flowers feel bigger and lighter at the same time.

That is why High Frequency smells floral without smelling like a bouquet.

Is it just a softer Pegasus?

Fragrantica voters link it to Parfums de Marly Pegasus more than to any other scent. They share the almond and the heliotrope. High Frequency swaps Pegasus's spice and wood for jasmine and magnolia.

We make both. Ascendant is our take on Pegasus Exclusif: cardamom and pink pepper over bitter almond and heliotrope, drying down woody. High Wave is the floral one. If you like almond scents, those two cover both sides of it.

From our own shop

High Wave is our 13th Initio-inspired scent. Over the last 90 days (to 30 September 2026), the Initio scents that sold most were Oud Elite (32 sold) and Euphoria (30 sold), 5ml and 50ml together, before counting bundle picks.

When we checked ten UK dupe brands on 30 September 2026, none of them sold a High Frequency alternative.

Who it suits and when to wear it

Anyone who wants a floral that smells clean rather than sweet, with a gourmand edge from the almond.

Easy to wear all year. Good for daytime, the office and warm evenings.

Why ours holds

One number. We publish our concentration: 35% Extrait on every spray. That is the highest disclosed by any UK dupe brand we have found, and it is why we can put 7+ hours in writing instead of hoping.

Some cheap dupes use cheaper oils and stretch them with DPG, Ambroxan and other fillers. We never add DPG. Our oils are built by specialist fragrance houses, every batch is rested more than once, and we smell every batch against the original.

What we do not claim is that it is the same liquid. It is not. It is the same scent family, built at a strength you can check.

The 60-day dare

Buy it. Wear it for a proper week. Put it next to the original if you can get near one.

Not convinced? You have 60 days to get your money back. Send it back lightly tested, with at least 90% left, and you cover the return postage. The full terms are in our refund policy.

No other UK dupe brand we know of gives more than 30 days.
