Memo Paris: The Perfume House Born from Travel and Memory

2 min read Aug 8, 2026

Memo Paris was founded in 2007 by Clara Molloy and her husband John. Their meeting came by accident on a chair-lift in 2005, but the brand that followed was entirely intentional.

Clara is a Parisian-Catalan poet. John is an Irish globetrotter. When she wrote a book about perfumers in 2006, she became absorbed in the craft, and the two decided to build a fragrance house together around a single idea: that perfume is a vehicle for travel and memory.

The name says it all. Memo comes from "memory". Each fragrance is designed to transport you to a specific place, to make you feel something, to anchor a moment in scent. The house uses high-quality raw materials and natural ingredients, built without the designer's tax.

Most niche houses chase complexity for its own sake. Memo Paris chases specificity. A fragrance inspired by a journey to Morocco does not smell like Morocco in the abstract. It smells like one moment in one place that touched the founder. That is the honest bit. That focus on specificity is harder to fake than complexity.

Our Moon Silk (our take on Memo Incan Leather) is a UK-made 35% extrait spray, available in 5ml sampler to 50ml bottle. More options in the Memo Paris collection.
