Scroll to the bottom of maisonasrar.com and the Facebook link does not go to Maison Asrar. It goes to a page called Gulf Orchid.
That is the most useful fact about this house, and it is sitting in plain sight on their own footer.
Gulf Orchid is a Dubai perfume manufacturer, and its site lists Maison Asrar in its brand portfolio. So Maison Asrar is a house brand of an established UAE manufacturer rather than a standalone atelier. Nothing wrong with that. It is how a large share of Middle Eastern fragrance reaches the market, and it explains the pace of releases.
And the pace is fast. Fragrantica's Maison Asrar page lists well over a hundred fragrances, with the earliest entries dated 2022. Four years, three figures of releases.
The brand's own site is Dubai-based, prices in dirhams, and runs sprays alongside room sprays and reed diffusers. It also states that one of its perfumes was a finalist for Luxury Packaging of the Year at Beauty World Dubai in 2023. That is the brand's claim, on the brand's site, and worth reading as such.
Night In Paris launched in 2023. Fragrantica files it as an oriental floral for women and men, with rose and lily of the valley up top, rose, lily of the valley and musk in the heart, and moss, amber and musk underneath. Read that list and the shape is clear enough: a clean white floral with a soft mossy landing rather than a sweet one.
Here is what we could not find, and we looked. No founder interview. No independent company history. No trade press profile of the sort that exists for the older European houses. The record is thin because the house is young.
Plenty of shops will fill that gap with invented heritage. We would rather tell you the three things that check out: it is made in Dubai by an established manufacturer, it started around 2022, and Night In Paris is a 2023 rose and lily of the valley composition.
Judge it on the juice, not on a backstory nobody has written yet.
