Jean Paul Gaultier Scandal is a honey chypre gourmand: thick, waxy honey and gardenia over an earthy patchouli base, with a bright blood-orange opening that stops it turning into a sweet shop. On Jean Paul Gaultier's UK site it is £121 for 80ml, or from £67 for the 30ml (checked September 2026).
Our take is Infamy. Same honey-and-patchouli signature, built at 35% Extrait, £40 for a 50ml, or £6.99 to try a 5ml first.
Infamy, our take on Scandal by Jean Paul Gaultier. 35% Extrait, 7+ hours guaranteed, 60-day money-back. Try the 5ml for £6.99, or the 50ml at £40 (buy any 2, get 1 free).
What Scandal smells like
Jean Paul Gaultier only publish three notes for it, and those three really are the whole story: gardenia, honey and patchouli. The honey is the star and it is thick, almost waxy. Blood orange and mandarin lift the opening, gardenia and orange blossom sit in the heart, and a patchouli base keeps the sweetness earthy rather than sugary. It is warm enough for winter, but the citrus keeps it wearable in spring. Unisex-leaning, but marketed to women.
Infamy: the £40 version
We will be straight about what this is. Infamy is Aromara's interpretation of the Scandal character, not a counterfeit and not a Jean Paul Gaultier product. It carries no branding and makes no claim to be the original. It chases the part that matters: the waxy honey, the gardenia and orange blossom, and the patchouli and beeswax base underneath.
The difference is in two numbers. Ours is built at 35% Extrait, roughly double a standard eau de parfum, so the honey and patchouli hold for seven hours or more. And it costs £6.99 for a 5ml to test it, against £121 for the original. We guarantee the wear time in writing, with 60 days to send it back for a full refund if it does not last.

Where Infamy sits in our range
Infamy is one of 16 scents we launched on 16 September 2026, so it has no reviews yet, and we would rather tell you that than pretend otherwise. What we can tell you is where it sits. It is a honey gourmand, and our best-selling gourmand, Vanilla Dust, has sold 88 bottles in the last 90 days at the same £40 and 35% Extrait. The 5ml at £6.99 and the 60-day money-back are how you judge Infamy for yourself while it is new.
Our guide to extrait de parfum explains why concentration matters. For more sweet gourmands, see the best honey and vanilla dupes, or browse all our new arrivals.
